How long does shipping take?
Shipping within the USA and Canada usually takes 1–4 business days. Orders are shipped Monday to Friday from our US distribution center. Delivery times for other countries may vary due to customs procedures.
Do I need anything else to perform the test?
Everything you need is included in the box. To prepare your sample, you will also need a few common household items:
- A milligram scale to weigh 20 mg
- A small funnel or a folded piece of paper to transfer the sample into the vial
What sample types can be tested?
This test is suitable for solid samples and powders, including cocaine powder, rocks/chunks, and compressed materials (e.g. pressed samples). Liquids cannot be tested with this kit.
How much material do I need for the test?
You only need 20 mg (0.02 g) of your sample. For best results, first finely crush and thoroughly mix a larger amount of your sample. Then take 20 mg from this homogenized material. This helps ensure a more accurate and representative result.
What does “quantitative test” mean? How is the QTest different from classic reagent tests?
Unlike classic reagent tests, which only indicate whether a substance is present, the QTest measures how much is present. This means you get the actual cocaine concentration, not just a yes/no result.
The Cocaine QTest measures purity, but it does not identify specific adulterants. Substances like “bath salts” (synthetic cathinones) and fentanyl can be present in cocaine without being detected, and may also interfere with the detection of cocaine by the Qtest. Using all three together gives you a clearer picture of both cocaine potency and potential contamination, helping you make more informed, harm-reduction decisions.

Can the Cocaine QTest detect fentanyl or other opioids?
No. The Cocaine QTest is specifically designed to measure cocaine concentration and does not detect fentanyl or other opioids. Given the increasing risk of fentanyl contamination, using a Fentanyl Test Strip alongside your QTest is strongly recommended, as even very small amounts of fentanyl can be dangerous.
What if I’m not sure my sample contains cocaine?
If you’re unsure what substance you have, start with a Multi Drug Identification Test. This test screens for common street drugs including amphetamines (speed and meth), cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), and opiates such as heroin or morphine, helping you identify what your sample may contain before using more specific tests.
Can this test detect “pink cocaine” (Tusi)?
No. This test is not designed to detect “pink cocaine” (also known as tucibi or tusi). Pink cocaine is rarely actual cocaine; it is typically a mixture of other substances such as MDMA, ketamine, and caffeine, which means this test will not give you a meaningful result. What substances can affect the test results?
Some substances, such as lidocaine, may cause false positives. The test is designed to avoid false positives from levamisole. For more comprehensive analysis, additional reagent tests like Scott 2.0 or Marquis are recommended.
What substances are commonly found in cocaine?
Most cocaine sold on the street is cut with other substances — some to bulk it out, some to mimic its effects, and some that are genuinely dangerous. Common adulterants include:
- Levamisole (toxic deworming agent)
- Lidocaine / Procaine (local anesthetics that mimic cocaine’s effects)
- Phenacetin (toxic painkiller)
- Caffeine and Paracetamol (used to dilute or mimic effects)
Most dangerously, some samples may also contain fentanyl or synthetic cathinones (bath salts), both of which can be life-threatening even in trace quantities. These will not be detected by the Cocaine QTest alone, which is why pairing it with a fentanyl strip and bath salts test is strongly recommended.

What is the shelf life and how should I store the test?
The test has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Store it at room temperature (36-68°F / 2–20°C) and keep it away from direct sunlight. For optimal longevity, refrigeration is recommended.
