Frequently Asked Questions about the LSD-QTest
Do I need anything else to perform the test?
Everything you need is included in the box.
To prepare your sample, you only need the following, which you probably already have at home:
- A scissor to cut your blotter in half
- A pipette/dropper to measure a drop from your liquid
How much material do I need for the test?
You only need a half of a blotter or one drop of your liquid to perform the test. Liquid LSD tends to settle at the bottom of the vial, for reliable results it is important to shake/invert your liquid carefully before testing. The result will tell you how much LSD-25 is in the tested sample. Remember that if you test it from a blotter to calculate the total amount of LSD-25, you need to multiply the results you get in the color chart by two.
When testing LSD on a blotter, you only need to use half of the blotter for the test. The result will show the amount of LSD (in micrograms) in that half. To calculate the total LSD content in the entire blotter, simply double the number shown on the color scale.
However, if you plan to consume the other half of the blotter, then the test result you get is already the total amount of LSD in that other half blotter, so no multiplication is necessary.
No, the LSD QTest is designed exclusively to measure the potency of LSD-25. It will not identify cutting agents or contaminants in your sample.
Does the QTest also work for derivatives such as 1 cP-LSD, 1P-LSD, or similar?
Our LSD-QTest is calibrated to LSD-25 and measures its concentration. The test does not react to derivatives like 1P-LSD, 1cP-LSD, ALD-52 or ETH-LAD, or others. If your blotter/liquid contains only these, the test will not show any coloration.
The LSD QTest works with blotters, liquid LSD in aqueous or alcoholic solutions, and gel tabs (depending on the type of gel). It does not work effectively with agar-based gels.
The LSD QTest can work with gel acid tabs, but it depends on the type of gel:
- Gelatine-Based Gel Tabs:
- Place half of the gel tab in the extraction solution included in the kit.
- Heat the vial gently to approximately 50°C (122°F), ideally using a water bath.
- Once the gelatine dissolves, proceed with the test as usual.
- Agar-Based Gel Tabs:
- Unfortunately, this type is not compatible with the LSD QTest. Agar requires boiling to dissolve, which could destroy the LSD and invalidate the results.
What does quantitative test mean and how does the QTest differ from “classic” reagent tests?
Our QTests are more powerful than classic reagent tests. While reagent tests detect the presence of an active ingredient in a substance, our QTests quantify it. This means they determine the concentration of active ingredients in various psychoactive substances, such as in blotters or liquids.
What is the shelf life of the QTest, and how should I store it?
Store the reagents at room temperature (35 - 68 °F) out of direct sunlight for a shelf life of at least 18 months. If possible: it is best to store chemical reagents chilled in the refrigerator.
